My wife and I enjoyed this restaurant very much. The wait was about an hour so we sat at bar since it was just us 2. Our bartender, Karen, was amazing - professional and courteous with fantastic service. The cocktails were delish and the appetizer oysters were phenomenal.
Our meals (rockfish special and tile
Fish) were spectacular. Overall, can’t beat the service and quality of food. We will be coming back. Highly recommend.
Koren Beef Kimchi Egg Rolls were fantastic. Steak-Shrimp and Yukon mash was amazing.
Great food and Service. A local OBX favorite. Highly Recommend A+++
We eat here regularly and are never disappointed! The food is fresh and presented beautifully with perfect combinations. Barry at the bar and is always knowledgeable and fun! For New Year’s Eve the menu was diverse and showcased local seafood. The Brussels sprouts are always a favorite and the kale salad is delightful with roasted red peppers and apricots! Definitely put it on your list!
We had a great experience dining with our grandson. Service was delightful, food was hot and delicious, and we got seated right away by the owner. Thanks for a great night, Tommy!
Wait staff was amazing but that's it. My wife and I had cocktails mine was basically Watery orange juice hers was syrup. We started with crab dip which had no flavor and pita bread with no flavor except garlic powder which was over powering. Then she had the duck breast, once again could not taste the duck just the over powering sauce and on pieces with no sauce it was flavorless. I had the blackend grouper. It wasn't quite as bad but not much better. The sides were the same. Over all I would steer clear.
The atmosphere was nice. Obviously quiet given it’s outside of season, so I definitely expected more than what I received. I was honestly a little disappointed and being very generous with a 3 star review for a restaurant that looked more upscale. I ordered the chicken pot pie and a couple drinks which included their version of a dirty martini. The prices were high, especially for a chicken pot pie. The pot pie was soooo incredibly dry and had no gravy or sauce to it at all. I felt like I was eating crust and dough with a few chicken scraps mixed with carrot, pea, and big pearl onions were in the mix. The side dish with Lima beans did not go well at all. The whole meal was so dry and had no flavor. I was hoping for good drinks but even the martini was a let down for me. It had 3 old sad tasting olives that didn’t even have pimentos. As a drink I get quite a bit, having empty olives was a disappointing first. Those who joined me just had a meh experience.
From the moment that we walked in, we were enchanted by this restaurant. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas.
The ambience was very festive.
We were greeted by the bartender, who informed us the hostess would be there to seat us shortly.
We were here in December, so we were seated immediately.
Karen, our server was very courteous and efficient. She made sure that what we ordered was served to our expectations.
The entrees were a bit expensive. But the quality of our food was beyond amazing. Portion size was very generous.
My son and I had the seafood Pasta.
It had generous amounts of shrimp, scallops, and crabmeat in it. Highly recommend it. It's definitely a dining experience-- not just a restaurant.
WOW WOW WOW! This place was so close to our house we could have walked.
The reviews are good, but our experience, even better! I have a few rules when ordering at a restaurant.
If there’s pot roast or Shepards Pie on a menu, I must order. They are specialty dishes and if Brave enough to add that to their menu, they are most likely, amazing.
On this night, I added Chicken Pot Pie. It was SOO GOOD!
From the greeting, to service, atmosphere, and of course the AMAZING food, what an experience.
We ate out for only one dinner while on this trip. It was important that we chose well. Letting the not so good reviews sway your opinion. That Would be a huge mistake!
A huge Thank You to
The Pony and The Boat for making our week incredibly memorable 🫶🏻
